I'm glad to hear that you're healing up well. You're well on your way to recovery... actually, it sounds like you're doing better than average.
The resort was wonderful. I didn't know this, but the RIU resorts are primarilly European. Americans were actually in the minority there. There were a ton of German people, and a lot from Argentina, too. It was sort of nice to know that I didn't really have to make conversation with anyone, but the last couple of days, I started to feel a little shut out. The beach was even more lovely than the pictures I'd seen. Palm trees, white sand, warm water. We went snorkeling and cliff diving, too, just to get away from the resort. It was damn near impossible to get drunk down there. I think the drastic change in altitude allowed me to drink more.
The only negatives were the heinous bug bite on my wrist from God only knows what kind of bug (hurt so bad it woke me up at night) and slightly sunburned boobs. Oh... and coming back to leaves falling off the trees and the Aspens turning gold.

Seems like there are two separate things going on here, one potentially dubious and the other not so much. It's that comment about "future events and desires" that's catching me. Desires, sure...desires determine our actions. But what exactly is it you're saying about future events? Do you mean plans that we have, or do you mean things we can't possibly predict? The former--absolutely. How I spend the remainder of my day will be very much determined by the fact that I have writers' group tonight. But the latter--hmm, okay, I've had too much coffee today I can't get this straight. I'm thinking interesting things but I can't seem to control them. About how our future unfolds, how we can never know how things are going to turn out but the decisions we make certainly allow for events and prevent others. More later maybe.
