That's right. Everyone in the studio got together and bought condenser mics and a proper recording mixer. Computer set up out there.. Combined with everything all the bands already owned.
That's the recording mixer up above this text. So FFF was one of the first bands to get to use the gear since we bought it. Only due to scheduling. We have some songs ready to go for a 5 song EP we have planned. Got one song fully recorded tonight. Lots of great VIDEO on MY INSTAGRAM, but I will link some pictures of the fun evening here below.
So as you can tell sometimes when vocal tracks are happening the rest of us just fuck around. The song we recorded tonight we actually chose to record simply because it doesn't have any backing vocals. It went really well. We did one take of all the instruments and got the levels we wanted and all. Then once more to play everything properly at the right levels. Then we set up and Nate did a couple vocal takes. Now that song is ready for computer mixing and a bit of mastering and VOILA! We have a CD quality song. DIY punk. I have never been more happy or proud.
Also Tyler and Brando with myself went to a festival called Cambhala very very close to our hometown. The festival is held on farmland owned by a group of friends, acquaintances and people I don't even know. A free punk rock protest to Shambhala is how it started is what I understand. Don't quote me on that though. So ayway, this festival was mostly famed for The Rebel Spell playing the last 3 years. As well as some other BC punk legends as Joey Only. Joey was there this year, but the mood was a bit somber as Todd Serious passed away mountain climbing earlier this year. Tyler, Brando and myself got together a set consisting of a FFF intro made of a song cut in half basically, two Mediocre Minds songs. (Ty and Brando's other band, so I had to learn those guitar parts!) Otherwise we did a set of all covers from popular punk bands. Bikeage by Descendents, Fireball by Tony Sly, Fertile Fields by Good Riddance, I Hate Myself by 88 Fingers Louie, and August 8th and Linoleum by NOFX. Lots of people were super fucked up and just having way too much fun moshing to take all that many pictures. Nothing much has shown up. I will post below pictures I remembered to take when I was sober at Cambhala! Also my friend Clay is the bass player in local grunge band Wet Blanket Motor Inn. Not only did they put on a great set, but it was his birthday.
