Wow. November 1 already. Unreal. So Halloween was really good. I got out of work early and went trick or treating with Lyric for the first time in 3 years! It was a ton of fun. Also, being that I got out of work earlier than expected, after the door to door candy collectiong, I got to enjoy a lazy evening with my lovely wife on Halloween night a.k.a. our 10 year anniversery. We didn't do anything, but it was nice to just be able to hang together. It's ironic that since we got married, most of our anniverseries have been messed with. Good thing we always have out time for eachother all year long, not just one day. Anyway, so it made for a good Halloween this year.
Lyric is ready to go get the candy!
I was a last minute beat up hockey player.
Yes, Lyric has spidersi n her hair!
Out on the town.

So now it is time to get back to work. My record label will be launching it's official web site today or tomorrow depending on when we get a few more things straight on it. I'm excited for it. My wife, Shannon designed and built the whole thing. When we started the label at the start of this year, it was simply for us to put out some music we were working on instead of either selling it to someone else, or just sitting on it. We also figured we would do it for like a year, just for fun. Now it's doing far better than expected, so we will keep at it and launch a real web page instead of trying to run only in places like myspace. It's kinda funny to think that I had pretty much gave up on my own music all together for like 5 years other than writting and selling stuff to people to use and working with other people and bands. I never thought I would find true pleasure in putting out music again after having to deal with the shit I delt with in my old bands and with certain people at certain record labels, but here I am. Excited about it again. I am glad to be back to what I loved about music in the first place. Doing for noone but myself and having fun with it. Doing it how I want and not giving a shit if noone likes or buys it. The fact that I can throw together any style, mix any type, and bounce all over genres and experiment the hell out of sounds....I love it. I also think it is a ton of fun to work with other bands and help them out. In fact I have a band I start pre-production with in a week from tomorrow! We will then record and I will put their record out on the label. It will be a bust last few months of the year and early months of next year. I have to finish writting and recording music for a new Surf Swirlies record, sort through all the old ass music that sounds like shit from my first ever band and put it together and release it, work on a few other of my own projects, produce and record a few other bands, finish helping record my wife's new album, all this and more while running the label, being a father, a husband, and working a real day job that takes an average of 10 hours of my day. It sounds good to me. I like the busy. It will satisfy the workoholic burried in me. Wow, I wrote way more than expected. I guess that happenes when I write as soon as I wake up and am half asleep still. Oh well. If you don't like it, you most likely already stopped reading it. I should go anyway. I have to run back to work for a few hours and make sure everything is clean from the month end and run a quick inventory of what didn't ship out. Then I will go buy all the clearence candy I can find. Here's to a productive post-Halloween!
