Party was rather mild last night. A few guys who recently started a band together decided to bring some equipment with them when they came over, so we had a short live set from a band that has no name and few songs. They want me to record a demo for them, so I guess it will be another project for me to work on in the nnext few months. Anyway, the party... I drank a bunch, nothing too out of hand went down, which makes for a bland time in my book. It was alright to just hang out with a bunch of people for a while though.
This morning I got to take the kid to the park for a school event. A 1 mile walk, healthy snacks, you know the whole promoting healthy habits for kids. It was good other than having to do it while recovering from last nights alcohol. Lyric had fun, and I like walking around out at that park. Lyric went into the creek to collect shells, rocks, and rotton apples. She almost caught a snake in the water. A good quality morning/afternoon with the kid I must say. Now we just recently got home. Time to be a little lazy before I have to cook dinner.
As far as anything else in my little world goes....music like crazy. The above mentioned band's demo. I'm still writting and recording the new Surf Swirlies album. Helping the wife on her new album. I will also be digging out some really really old shit. My first real band. A little punk rock band called Those Naked Guys. We had a nice little destructive run in our home area of Chicago back in '94 -'96. Our mission was simple. Have fun, piss everyone off especially other bands, and see if we could finish a set before we were kicked out, beat up, or arrested. Anyway, I have been talking with the guitar player from the band (who I haven't really talked to very much in like 11 years) and we are going to put together a bunch of recordings, live stuff, and maybe a video and give it a nice proper release via my record label hopefully in January. The only hang up right now is getting the drummer to agree to it all. He went on to be the drummer in another band of mine for a handful of years, and we worked together on a few other short lived projects as well. These days he is fronting a Christian hard rock/emo-ish band, and considering our history in TNG was nothing but vulgar, rude, mean, evil, and anything else that wouldn't agree with his new found faith, it might be a bit of an issue to get him to agree. I think he will come around, and I am moving forward in preping everything either way. So yeah.
I guess this is enough talking out of me. Head hurts and I need to relax. Be good 'eh.
