the i-Pod i-Blog
i just bought my first i-pod. my first bit (bite ?... byte ??) of apple hardware ever.
Since the first Sony Walkman i've always had a personal music player. Fell in love with the sound quality the fist time i saw one (Jimmy Hum had the 1st model ever made. his parents owned the nicest chinese restaurant in town so he always got the cool stuff first)
It was HUGE by todays standards .. but the sound was incredible. Remember that before that time we carried little tinny transister radios around with us. (9 volt batteries were popular back then)
So - as soon as they became affordable - i had to have me one. always upgrading - and eventually jumping all over the new evolution - the portable CD player !! woo-hoo !
After that - the were able to play MP3 CDs ... holy shit how could it get any better than that ??
MP3 players. no tapes, no discs .. just memory. 512, 1 gig....
I actually didnt get on board for this one. I listened to most of my music in the car - there was very little opportunity for me - a family at home, and the work environment i was in - to wear headphones.
So i was happy with playing CDs or mp3 CDs in the car.
Then one day this guy at work has a PSP player. I thought it was interesting - but i didnt play games and i wouldnt ever watch a movie on such a small screen - and still - the earphone thing .. so i wasnt enthralled enough to get one - until i saw a used one cheap somewhere and thought what the hell.
I bought an 8 gig memory stick and filled it with music - played it at work using external speakers and have been doing that until .. yesterday. (when all my troubles seemed so far away)
A while back i bought an i-pod from a lovely young lady on the SG buy and sell part of the forum. it showed up Monday so i immediately downloaded i-tunes and proceeded to attempt to load it up with music.
80 mother-loving gigs !!!
I put a ton of stuff on there and only used half the space .. i'm loving it already.
except one thing ... fucking i-tunes blows.
it doesnt blow in the good way. it doesnt look up at you wearing pigtails with that sexy 'does this feel good ?" expression ....
it blows like broken sharp braces and chipped vomit stained teeth.
with the PSP - i just hooked the damn thing up to the computer - and dragged music over to it like it was another harddrive. all my file structures stayed intact. albums showed up as albums.
but i-tunes ... crap ! shit's all over the place - albums look like single songs..
unless you want to play random for your 20,000 songs and go the rest of your life without hearing some of the songs you want to hear - it really is a useless program.
or - am i just not doing it right ?
should i be wearing pigtails ??
Heeeeelllllpppp !!!
