WOW WOW WOW WOW WOW WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!
its all i can really say because Melissa Auf der Maur kicks so much ass!!!!
SO eddie picks me up from BBC... erin was also joining us for the show...
i was saying the entire time i need to get her to sign my cd... i was gonna make them wait after the show if i didnt get it... i really wanted her to sign it...
so just as we got to the Culture Room I got out the car with the CD in hand and I was just staring at the tour bus outside... Eddie then pointed out her there she is...
Yep, it was her and i went up politely and she was ahead of me and said. "Oh, want me to sign your CD?" So i gave it to her and she asked for my name... I was wearing my I'm Huge In Japan shirt and she smirked and chuckled at it, "I'm Huge in Japan, huh?" she said... she signed the CD, "DAVIDxxx Beast of Honor XMAdMxxx"... so i thanked her and gave her a hand shake and walked away happy...
that woulda made my night right there, but it got better!!!
So then we waited in line (MAdM went inside by then) and got in and i went straight to buying the shirt that is my LJ icon right now (I <3 BASS).. went upstairs in the culture room and i got me a Jack and Coke and was happy... The Sun was an OK band... the von blondies, were at best, OK... not my cup of tea...
I then decided to have some fun with the folks at the New Times... they were there handing out free stuff so from the balcony i shouted, HEY!! I WANT THE NEW TIMES TO HOOK ME UP WITH FREE STUFF!!!.. they took a pic of me from the balcony and came up to give me some stuff... th best was a slapper early 90's style.. the promotions director was cute so it was entertaining for a while...
and then the best part of the night happened when MAdM came on, and i went downstairs for that... it was amazing... but durring "lightning is my girl" one of the guitarists efffects board totally died... so i have a feeling some songs were cut out.. but still there was great energy coming from the stage... "Skin Receiver" was excellent and then MAdM chatted with thte audience...
One cool thing that happened was someone asking what she was drinking.. to that she held up a small glass of... Jack Daniels!! wow... hehe then she asked how we all were and if we went to the Cure-iosa festival show... yea the ppl in the audience all said yes while i yelled, "NO!!! I WAS IN NEPAL!" She then asked "what?!! you were in Nepal?! wow, I guess you were getting... enlightened right?" I responded with, you could say that... so then the show went on and she said, "OK, this next song is dedicated to all the bass players out there tonite..." So i smile and wonder what song she was going to play... all the sudden i hear this bass line that sounded so familiar...
Before i say what song, The entire time at the show, before MAdM played, i was joshing Eddie about how itd be so awesome if she covered this one band... however i only said it cuz it would bother eddie cuz he says he doesnt like that band...
Anyways, the song she ends up playing... "Sergeant Politeness" by FAILURE!!!!!!! I WAS FUCKING FLOORED!!! i shouted HOLY SHIT ITS FAILURE and the entire place was going, "wtf is that guy talking about?" i was apparently the only one who knew the song.. but it was just amazing cuz A, it was dedicated to me (
hehe) and B, i was just talking out of my ass about the band covering failure... never in a million years would i have thought that they were going to cover them... it was real kick ass too cuz they also played "Segue 1" along with the song...
then they closed with an awesome performance of "Followed the Waves"...
this night is one of the best nights ever... I LOVE YOU MAdM!!!!! THANKS FOR A WONDERFUL TIME!!!
