Didn't end up going to Kentucky this week, in the end, because we had a major storm take out a good portion of our equipment at a group of stations in Virginia. It was one of those scenes where there are four people huddled around outside at night working on a solution with our generators & halogen lights blaring. Fun but exhausting. I worked a total of 32 out of 39 hours in a stretch on Wednesday and Thursday. Now most of the problems have been resolved or are awaiting replacement equipment. This means that I got to come home on Thursday night instead of spending it on the road like I had originally planned. I'll be a bit more rested for the weekend so maybe I'll go out and do some more hiking around the national forests. Look at me: glass half full. I've been keeping myself afloat this week and while it's been a bit shaky, I'm still feeling good about what I've done for myself lately. -dave
