I was saddened to hear that rattie Mable, also called Snow ;-), passed away on Friday of complications from megacolon. I spent some good quality time with my rats Erin & Katie tonight and talked to them about Mable. Katie's tumors have grown quite a bit but she still seems to be chipper. She was running (well, waddling) around my room tonight and didn't seem sickly in spite of the benign tumors slowing her up.
The big news of my weekend was I got a surround sound system for my home theater. I got a Klipsch Quintet III set of four satellite speakers and a center as well as a Klipsch 650W Subwoofer. I got them all installed this weekend in time to watch a few NFL games in HD. I was also able to get the digital output from my soundcard to work which means when playing DVDs off my computer I can do Dolby DTS , 5.1, or 6.1. Pretty nice setup with my desktop now with the Dolby 6.1 capability and the DVI-HDMI video into my television. I'll probably get a DVD player here pretty soon too.
In the "life in general" section of my journal, I'll update that I think I'm probably doing better than I would at first suspect. I think I realized this when leaving church today. Last year going to church was the only positive thing I would do on a weekend. I would spend the whole rest of it feeling sorry for myself. I would have to work up the courage to go to church. When I left church I felt so good because it was such a change from what I was normally doing on the weekend. It doesn't feel like that anymore and I guess I can attribute it to the fact that I am dealing better with my time and myself. Don't get me wrong, I still have many social problems. I am constantly lonely and I have no social life outside of my Internet/telephone/AIM buddies. I think I'm just doing a better job of accepting living by myself.
Tomorrow is going to be another cleaning day. I have the bathroom/kitchen floors to clean, the apartment to vaccum, dishes to do, and the rat's cage to change. The rest of the week is up in the air. Saturday & Sunday will be more NFL Football with the Indianapolis Colts playing at 1pm on Sunday versus Pittsburgh. I would like for the Colts to win on Sunday and proceed through the rest of the tournament to win the Super Bowl. That would be classy and appeciated.
