Hi,
Ok, it has been a really long time since I added a new journal entry...I guess I've been extremely busy and typically just don't like talking about myself.
I recently was selected to be a featured photographer on one of my sites that I'm a member of, OMP (Onemodelplace), from what I've read some of you like the site and others of you don't.
Although I personally have mixed feelings about the site at times, I do get a lot of jobs out of it and have made some great contacts at various magazines and with various other industry related people from it, so I definitely can't complain (And still recommend people joining it...even if just for free).
I was the first photographer from my state (WI) to ever be featured and in my 6 weeks as the featured photographer I had over 1.5 million views. If anything, I was definitely honored to be grouped amongst some of the other photographers whose work I really admire and got a lot of free publicity out of it.
With my modeling work that I shoot, I mainly do a lot of boring agency type shots (Casual, fashion, editorial, etc.), and also a lot of Glamour and Artistic type images that have been bought from me for various magazines...I prefer shooting images that are Artistic, Glamorous, Dark, Sexy, Provocative, Thought Provoking, Alternative, etc., and I was wondering if I should post more of my normal images on SG in my Pics folders to show more variety of my work since I unfortunately don't get to shoot as much SG type images as I'd like to, (So I don't have a lot of those type of images posted...and most of what I do have posted are old and nowhere near the quality of what I'm shooting now), so my question is....should I should only post images that are in the style of what SG posts or a variety of everything??? Let me know your thoughts. Thanks!!!
Also if anyone wants to check out my OMP page (Which has a wide variety of all of types of work I shoot) here's my link...Burdick Imaging If any one has any comments about any of my work or any constructive criticism for me I'd love to hear anything, any of you have to say. Thanks again!!!
Take care,
Dave
PS Do any of you know of any good alternative modeling/photographer websites I could check out for models???
