today i do not work until 4pm, very nice, and only for a few hours. yesterday this young man decided to talk at me in french and gave me no chance to try and speak back, instead he complained about my whole family (from what i could understand) and how anglophone families should not be allowed to live in Montreal unless they are fluent in french. I understand all of his woes for his "culture" and "way-of-life" (which is not much different than mine, although i would not spend that much money on bottled water...50bux people). A lot of francophones still blame the british for the problems in quebec. I am not british and I do not agree that it is them to blame. I would be more pissed at louis the 13th(i think) for spending all the money in the USA on the civil war between the british and french; he left "New France" i.e; Quebec to fend for themselves, so with food supply running low the british just had to wait them out. In any case war is useless and nobody ever really gets riddance of old grudges.
My boss gave the guy supreme shit and pretty much said he was an asshole for wasting his time being in an anglophone municipality, not-in-those-exact-words per se. Funniest part was i spoke french to him and everything.
All this being said, I cannot wait to move next july, the french language was one of which i would have loved to learn ( i am all for languages), i have met so many wonderful french people but alas no bloody way will i learn any more for quebec. nope, if i learn more french i will only speak it among friends and never in quebec.
the worst part about the whole thing was some lady broke her feta cheese container and it had spilled all over my area(whatever it's called) and it smelled of narly milk bacteria the whole time, as if that was not enough then he had to get all high-and-mighty.
it reminds me of when i was on the public transit in edmonton once and these kids (at the time older than i) where accosting these other kids of asian decent about speaking english "learn the fucking language" is what was said. I had felt embarrassed throughout that bus ride and ashamed, i had wished i knew an oriental language in order to swear at the jerks but instead i just got off the bus and walked to where i was going.
i need a hair cut.
p.s. i moved here for the strawberries.

To be honest you might as well blame the British, we get the blame for everything else.
