So it is August 19th, and you know what you should go do tonight after work? Go see Kubo in theaters. I got to see an advance release of it about a month ago, and can confirm that it is super rad. I worked on the film in the rapid prototyping department, processing the faces for the stop motion puppets, and the can tell you firsthand just how cool the film is. The painstaking detail hundreds of people put into this film really takes it out of the realm of just another animated film, and pushes it into something more.
I know it's a little shameless promotion, but its for something bigger than myself, and its something I and many others put a lot of time and effort into that lives up to the hype. If you see it, let me know what you honestly thought, I'm always curious what different perspectives bring to the table.
