I wouldn't normally stay home just for the post, but when it's a sign on delivery it's much easier than trying to find time and a way to get to the post outlet. Besides, I wouldn't just skip important classes - these were the first classes of the semester, and people were still dropping and picking up the courses. Btw, it's a computer mouse.
