This blog is LOOOONG overdue... and I'm glad that all 3 of the sets that this blog is about have made it to the front page because they're part of my SAN DIEGO COMIC-CON Trilogy of 2012.
Locations are ALWAYS an issue when doing shooting, especially when traveling, if you have no resources it's extremely hard book a shoot in a proper location, and the other problem I ran into was the fact that the girls needed to be fairly close by the convention hall to attend the SG booth... The easiest was shooting in the hotel rooms that staff had gotten for the girls, however the challenge? make 3 sets seem unique enough in the same/similar rooms that they'll each stand out on their own accord and seeing how two of the sets are 99% loved and the other is 98%, I think I did a pretty damn job, and of course the girls did wonderful too and carried my 'vision'. It also helps that I was a comic book nerd at sometime in my life so I know lore. I know the colors and I know the symbols of the superheroes so I hope it translated well. Thanks members and staff, I hope these sets are memorable, and I had several more comic themed ideas as well, maybe DC next year??
first was Tristyn - Invincible . "The Invincible Iron Man"
for the arc reactor light, we used Tristyn's ringflash. It worked out perfectly
Second Dimples - Amazing
"The Amazing Spider-man"
Last but not least Brewin - Incredible "The Incredible Hulk"
I think I have the honor of having the very first set where a Suicidegirl lifts a table over her head... it's rather amazing what you can do with a few tricks of the camera and helpful assistants Hankmoody and Buellher were life savers. Speaking of Buellher her hairwork can be seen in both Tristyn's and Brewin's sets so if you like her work, feel free to hit her up in the bay area!
I have more stuff the blog about but yeah i'll leave this one at that.. there you go, my Comic Con trilogy!!

That is so cool! What a creative shot. I'm really into art that defies convention
