I've been back from Portland for almost a week now but have been putting off this blog for a bit, mostly because I'm a huge procrastinator haha..

anyway to sum it up, Portland was amazing.
I pretty much fell in love with the place, it seems to be the perfect blend of a city and a suburb, and has both of everything that I like in towns. Plus the place is gorgeous and green, bike friendly, awesome food, and all the houses have this old victorian feel that I absolutely love in buildings.




oh and then theres Powell's books....
3 stories tall, one block wide and full of books.I swear I could spend like a whole week in there and probably not even scratch the surface. I had to stop myself from looking because I didn't want to spend a small fortune. I walked away with these two books that had been on my list for awhile. They were cheaper than Amazon, plus no sales tax is awesome!



At the time I didn't think about how I had just walked out with a book about dead bodies and book about sideshow freaks.... I guess it's pretty appropriate if you know me though.


OK enough of the 'touristy' stuff and on to the stuff you guys actually care about.

I tried to squeeze in shoots with Magpie and Roza as well but both of them have crazy schedules so . Next time i'm up there though...

I also got them all to participate in my "Girls in Hoodies" project which after this trip, i'm up to 29. so 21 more girls to go and I'm off to go publish something at blurb.com.

Anyway Atomicant and Doxie were awesome hosts... and seriously Atomicant went above and beyond what I ever expected to give great kudos to the guy for driving me around and checking out the hotel and everything.

I'm not a staff photographer but I'm pretty sure I was treated like one. To sum it up, I had a great time in Portland and am definitely going to make another trip up there hopefully sometime in the nearer future. I'm also heavily considering moving up there I liked it that much, and I've really run out of love for San Jose in the last few years. We shall see..

It was a great trip, made new friends, did a lot of shooting and it's amazing what new environment can do for artistic inspiration too as I think these are some of my best sets yet! Hopefully members will agree!
