I was the official photographer at this event in March of 2024. I used my new Nikon Z8 camera with a pair of 600Ws studio lights. I got to capture the likeness of these amazing peeps in all their glory within the best possible light.
Here is just a few of the images I captured at the faire of other people dressed up.
I was hired to capture these photos during the Raven's Manor All Hallows Eve on 10/31/22. I was also asked to bring the Fortune Teller selfie booth I made. These were captured using a Nikon D850 camera with a Raven trigger to signal my 600Ws lightning stick.
These are the portraits I captured on the first Sunday (7/24/22) at the Canterbury Renaissance Festival. Here is a link to their FB page: https://www.facebook.com/CanterburyRenfaire It is held in Silverton Oregon on the last weekend of July. My Wife, Tia was also there as a Psychic Tarot Reader in the As Above vendor booth near the jousting arena. This was just 3 hours of shooting, but took me a full 3 days of mind-numbing work to sort and process those image files to share with you here. I captured them with my high-resolution Nikon D850 with a speedlite on top that triggers a 600Ws strobe behind a 25" soft-box light modifier. This is so I could keep the ISO down to the lowest base 64 setting and a tighter aperture of f/13 for better focal depth for nice sharp pictures with good color saturation.
In Canby Oregon they have hosted a fairly new renaissance faire for the last few years at the Clackamas Fair Grounds. I was there with Tia and our Son: Torrin. It had been 4 years since we had gone to this ORF event. We were only there for just the one partial Saturday on one of the two weekends this Summer: 6/11/22. I managed to capture 373 photos. I used my Nikon D850 with a 600Ws strobe light behind a 25" wide round softbox off to one side for the first half of these pictures, so I could set the camera at the lowest ISO of 64 with a fairly high aperture of f/6.3-13 for very clear vibrant images, even when viewed at full resolution.
Despite the health concerns they still held this Celtic Fantasy Faire in Hilsboro on 8/21/21. I started with a small speed light mounted on my Nikon D850 camera, but soon went back to our car to set up the whole 600Ws strobe light behind a 25" softbox on a stand to get a more flattering light on my subjects.
At Horning's Hideout in North Plains Oregon. Captured with my Nikon D850 camera and a 200Ws studio strobe light in an Octabox.

This is a combination of Cosplay and other unique people I have capture their likeness at that moment. I was at local Comicon, fetish Balls, and the Oregon Country Fair.
As I travel I am frequently capturing images. I love the long exposure night shots.
I have professional grade photo gear and studio lighting. I use a high rez 45 meg Nikon D850 camera. I also have good photo editing skills. Are willing to grace my lens? If you are within the Portland, Oregon area drop me a note so we can colaborate on a project.
Where is that first photo - the stone tower by the water?
