After a string of unexpected events and crazy happenstance over the summer, I've found myself FINALLY getting back into my photography. I've shot several events in the last few months, a small wedding, several senior photo sessions, a 50th wedding anniversary, and I'm getting back into working with a couple of local models where I am. Even though scheduling around the "real job" keeps things brutally complicated for me, at least it's a start. I've even been contacted by another (actual) Pro photographer in the area that I follow on Insta who wants to do a collab sometime and mentioned including me in one of his modeling workshops at some point as well, to get some work in and make some connections.
One of the other, and more significant opportunities I was able to jump on recently was when Nikon decided to discontinue the camera body I'm currently using as my main platform, so I was able to pick up a second D750 on a used market for HALF PRICE with ONLY 4800 cycles on the shutter release... which is barely even worked in at that point. So with 2 cameras, and all the lenses I could possibly need for the shooting that I do, I'm finally starting to pick up speed again and feel good about it.
I need to figure out some short distance trips for more scenic work.
I need to put myself out there more aggressively about doing more formal event photography... possibly including more weddings.
I need to learn all of the ins and outs of my new photo processing program, and how to really make them function for my workflow efficiency.
I need to dig into my nature and wildlife backlog that has been on hold while I was dealing with my severe attack of.... Life. I know that I have usable photos waiting for actual processing... I just need to find the time to dig it up and polish it.
Lets see how far we can run.
Take care, be well, you're loved.
