Hi all you gorgeous people! I haven't been around much lately (well, OK, that's not entirely true, but I have been extremely busy and I feel like I've been missing out), so I thought I'd post about the insanity that is my life lately.
As some of you may recall I was up in North Dakota digging for a while... Ten weeks, actually.
This was the result... Big, square holes in the plains. We moved (by hand, mind you) 200,000 pounds of dirt, which yielded about 150,000 artifacts. Of those only ONE was diagnostic (and guess who find that one)!
It's a projectile point, about 3,000 years old.
During this time I was home for all of ten days, though admittedly that was also partly due to my mini-vacation to Calgary for the #Blackheartburlesque show.
SO totally worth it!
Incidentally, if you're ever in North Dakota you absolutely need to try a local delicacy...
We simply referred to them as the crack pretzels, they're that good. Only sold in ND, so far as I can tell.
I finally got home just in time to move! Turns out that my home region is so astronomically expensive to live in these days that I'm gonna be couch-surfing it for a while. Had to pack up my entire house (where I've been for three years) and get everything into storage, basically solo, in four days.
Fortunately, that's because I got more work-this time closer to home. I'm currently working up in Pike National Forest in the Colorado Rockies. The transition from 2,000 feet to 10,000 feet has been a little rough, but it's easy to deal with when your 'office' looks like this!
We'll be done up here in a few more days, at which point I finally get a few days to myself. I plan to catch up on everything I can over the holiday weekend, so please spam me with anything I missed (sets, blogs, other awesomeness) since the beginning of April!
Ciao lovely people! Hope the week treats everyone well!
