I'd first like to say, for everyone who is in a fulfilling relationship or otherwise enjoys this holiday, not talking down your buzz at all. Quite the reverse. Have a great day!

To others, though, this isn't always the happiest day. I know that I rarely (if ever) find myself with reason to celebrate this holiday in the traditional sense. So, I have a different tradition.

This morning I baked my own Valentine's cookies (that's right, I like banking, and I have a Green Lantern apron and Vulcan oven mitt).

(I'm not a master chef, they came out a little crumbly)

Now I'm handing them out, along with free hugs, to anyone who wants them at a local dive bar while watching hockey!

Not a bad day at all!
