well...I've got strep throat. It sucks big time. Unfortunately for me I don't need to be exposed to it in order to get it. I just need to be worn out enough for it to come back. So that's $300 that I don't have that I just had to shell out. On the good side though I got antibiotics for free because someone stocked too much. They also, for the first time ever, gave me vicodin for the pain. I've taken one...it's the first time I've ever had vicodin. I'm not really feeling it yet...it's only been half an hour. I am, however, starting to feel a little better. The antibiotics usually start to clear things up almost immediately.
They also suggested that it might be worth looking into getting my tonsils removed. One of the nurses told me that he'd had his tonsils removed because of the strep and he hasn't had it in 7 years. Considering that I get it a couple of times a year I'm really going to have to look into it. I'll probably wait for the health clinic back in White River though since I can get all that stuff done for free. Not having health insurance is a real pain in my ass.

I used to get bronchitis every year as a teenager, then I realized that I should bundle up more, and I haven't had it since.

P.S. I don't know whether Vicodin works the same way as Oxycontin. (I hear Vicodin-ES is safer, but my Dad took it once for back pain and boy was he loopy!
