Best Weekend of 2007?
It'll be a tough one to top I tell ya. Anyhow so yeah...last weekend was a busy/hectic one which involved quite a bit of driving wear on my car - but I'm not complaining about it one bit. The distances and the time were more than well worth the efforts - Hey man lasting memories were made!
On Friday night I drove up north about 110 miles out to Orangevale, CA to a placed called...

This was the decor of their bathroom...

I arrived some time after the official show start time, but despite this I was able to catch full sets from 3 of the 4 bands that were playing that night.
A band outta Canada called the Cancer Bats were the first I caught and I dug em plenty; Good energy and some solid rock - made me decide to pick up their album afterwards.
Up next was Speakerfire who are from Buffalo, NY - I enjoyed their set whilst pounding a few Guinness. I scored one of their stickers from a cute little girl who handpicked me to give one to (which made me wonder how exactly she passed the ID-check, haha).
On a side note, From A Second Story Window was billed to perform that night as well but word was that their van had broken down on the way to CA...
Afterwards the band of my main objective for the night took the stage; The Number 12 Looks Like You

...wish better pictures had resulted, but I did get some video at least (once I can figure out how to upload on YouTube, I'll be certain to share it). They were awesome and they made my ears bleed, but I was a little disappointed by their seemingly short set..{grumble, grumble}.
Since I was out so late at the show on Friday night, I decided to forgo sleep and just killed time until it was time to meet my friend Thomas and make the longer trip down south to Pasadena, CA on Saturday.
Thankfully, after some time on the road and a hearty breakfast he was kind enough to take the wheel and allow me to get some degree of sleep.
Forwarding fast, we checked into this place reputed to be historically located on the old Route 66. I thought their neon sign was snazzy at least...

(the only thing not advertised was the included FREE PORN Channel, Haha)
After checking out Pasadena a bit and taking care of a few things, we rested up some in the room and then got ready by the evening for the event we had eagerly quested for.
When we got to the venue and I saw this banner...

It was tough to quell the lifetime anticipation within. Bypassing security with my digital camera safely tucked into my crotch area, we made our way into the GA pit area and we were fortunate to be just a mere space back from the stage barrier! We had managed some excellent timing for sure, and I affirmed that spending $200 bones for each ticket and traveling the distance to be there was the best money I'd ever spent.
Ya can judge with this picture (that I'm most proud of) for yourselves...

There would be video here as well...but that'll have to sit on THE COMING SOON shelf until I figure out that YouTube uploading deal.
Anyhow getting to finally see the Mozfather himself was an experience which makes me think I could die mostly fulfilled now
Oh, tonight's tasty Chinese food dinner fortune cookie said that...
An Admirer Is Too Shy To Greet You
Hmph! Yeah...right. I think I was gypped and this fortune cookie was given to the wrong guy, Haha
