It's been a year since I was diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma an incurable form of cancer. It is growing in my bones. It started with deep, chronic pain in my lower back that made it hard to even stand. Turms out my back was fractured at L12 and that was pinching my nerves. A year after steroid treatments, numerous CT Scans, X-Rays, MRI's, radiation treatments and finally Bone Marrow transplant and two-week hospital stay, I am on the mend. Slowly, but I am fighting to get back to me!
Some days I do not want to get out of bed, but I do. My strength is returning, and I have returned to the gym part-time. Even though I have to live with cancer for the rest of my life, it is at this point in remission. How long it will stay that way...I'm hoping for ten years or so, but only the cancer knows for sure!
