CHECK OUT MY NEW SET Do I wanna know
So, boys and girls, let me tell you a story of this bottle on my lap.
This is a still dry red wine from Cesanese del Piglio grape. It has a very rich full taste with a lot of ripe fruity notes, but also some velvet of a good pipe tobacco like Burley. The longlasting aftertaste makes you enjoy it even more...
Last week before heading back to Rome from Amalfi coast I suggested to my Italian man that I'd love to pay a visit to some local wine producer.
- Actually, there is one half-way to Rome that I've been trying visit for a few times, - he responded
We called that man, he didn't pick up (no surprise, it was Sunday), but called back one hour later!
He met us on a parking lot in Anagni, we followed his car through the vineyard... it was an hour before the sunset, all the vines were reflecting the golden sunshine from a low angle with a little hail around...
We spent almost an hour with signor Coletti Conti, whose name you see on these bottle, talking about vines, trends, "organic" stuff, grape diseases, vineyard inheritance, etc. He is such an interesting and a very scientific type person, so kind to have spared his time on a Sunday to feed our curiosity!
As a result, 4.5 boxes of various wines were brought to Rome! Two of them contained white wine from Manzoni Bianco, a harvest of which have died last year, so there were only 10 boxes left for the next two years!
