This is tired me who had completed 12 hour Red Cross First Aid and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation training.
It was a great experience that had given me ability to save someone's or even my own life one day! Two days of 6hr that included choking, bleeding, wounds, injuries, burns, frostbites, putting a body into recovery position, ways of transporting and other emergencies. Great thing was that we didn't use professional medical equipment, but everyday objects that are most likely to be around when emergency happens.
I believe everyone should know the basics of life saving, because this is a small thing that actually makes world a better place to live! If one day you or someone close has a heat stroke, loses consciousness, chokes or, even worse, has a stroke or a heart-attack in public, wouldn't you hope that someone in a crowd is able to help?! By educating ourselves we increase the safety, consciousness and chances of survival in an emergency situations (that actually happen daily).
Stay safe everyone!

P.S.On the pics below I'm performing CPR on a mannequin of an adolescent and trying to lift into a comfortable position and evacuate a big man's body (sorry for quality, the instructor is not a photographer :).
