Some of you may have already read that I am planning to move to study to Italy... And one of the most important things for moving to a different country is the language barrier. So in this post I wanted to confirm that I'm slowly working on breaking it!
I have always found learning new things exciting, but learning a whole new language is a completely new level. It's probably impossible to explain to those who speak only one, but every language in your toolbox is a separate way to perceive the world, other people and to express yourself.
I'm natively bilingual of Ukrainian and Russian and fluent in English. I studied some German and French at school. And whenever I speak any I feel myself a slightly different person. Because of the structures I use, words that could be untranslatable, even the frequencies of the sounds that I produce.
Adding a new tool of conscious self-expression is an interesting step to erase some blank spaces on the map of -understanding the world and yourself.
How many languages do you speak, pals? @missy, @rambo ? Which would you like to learn?
