Hi everyone! Decided to start doing my SG homework with a success story from the time I won my biggest contest so far.
I think most beautiful girls here often feel underrated and not taken seriously and I can totally relate to that and always could. Especially back when I was 17.
In the beginning of the last year of high school I decided I want to pursue tech education and to get higher chance of getting accepted to our best tech university smart school kids do research projects.
My path crossed with a great advisor and I ended up doing a project on metal-cutting (milling) machines. I had to measure performance of their built-in algorithms and reprogram them to be as fast as possible. And in a miraculous way it made me super excited! The project was total success, for some types of milling I was able to make it 8 times faster !!
Totally in love with my accomplishment I sent it to Intel contest for school kids...online review, oral presentation, judge votes...and tadaaaam I became one of three people in the country to win it's $5000 grant! And the only girl to do so.
This event boosted my confidence and kept me going to fullfill my willingness to become a techie! Since then I know that you can be both cute & smart! And every time I wear this t-shirt with a brain print I remember I am able to achieve anything!
Wish you guys to follow your hearts too! It pays back, sometimes literally :)
@missy @rambo, check out my homework ;)
