Appetite Theatre, Chicago's premiere foodie theater company, joins forces with Sunday Dinner Chicago to bring you a dining experience like no other. Come to our private dining club, which for one night only will be held in the West Loop loft of our friend Justin Roy, for a 5-course dinner prepared and presented by Sunday Dinner Chicago chefs Christine Cikowski, Joshua Kulp and Jason Stern.
Sunday Dinner Chicago is an artisan custom caterer devoted to local, seasonal and sustainable food. Appetite Theatre blends the human elements of feast and story telling, of drink and socializing, in order to remind people of the basic value these activities impart on our experience. The blend of these two organizations is a match made in culinary heaven! For more information about our culinary artists, check out their website at www.sundaydinnerchicago.com.
The fine print:
* Appetite Theatre is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization. $50 of your ticket is tax deductible as a donation to the theater.
*Please note space is extremely limited
*This event is BYOB
*Street parking is available
The Menu
White Bean Soup with Pinenut Parsley Pesto and Parmesan Tuile
Romaine Hearts with Grapefruit and Creamy Shallot Dressing
Sole with Meyer Lemon Buerre Blanc, Roasted Fennel, and Arugula
Hanger Steak with Mushroom Cream Sauce, Egg Noodles, and Herb Salad
Chocolate Mousse with Blood Orange Madelaines
The Wine
Since this event is BYOB, company member and president of Winediva Enterprises Christine Blumer sends the following recommendations:
"Lighter Italian whites go nicely with the first few courses. Wines from Greco di Tufo, Lugana, or anything from Cinque Terre if you can find it. Otherwise, I'd go with a zippy Sauvignon Blanc from France or New Zealand.
"For the Hanger Steak, I'm thinking big style Pinot Noir. A nicer Burgundy or Oregon Pinot Noir would be great. A decent Merlot might be good too."
