What an interesting topic! @missy @rambo @mitziwolf
I've got two i think. First one was 2010. My business (and me personally as a leader of that business) won a market leadership award from a biotech award firm. I was confused about this. I built the products for the portfolio of research tools that won this leadership position. My efforts, as well as my marketing partner's, resulted in this prize. But the firm that selected us was not entirely reputable and the leadership above me in my company did not respect it. Us achieving this financial revenue target was significant to me. Years of effort. I traveled and received the award with the vice president of our enormous life science company. Fun stuff, that award allowed us to build a new business a few years later and they picked me to lead it from the technical side. But they only gave us 9 mos before they shut us down due to sales challenges.
Last week, however, i received notification that my biotech hero, a famous gentleman who enabled our ability to sequence our genomes for $1000 these days, would actually be willing to review a proposal i gave to him 3 months ago. I will get feedback on if he has any level of interest in my idea by mid next week. I expect rejection, but there is a small chance he may like my idea. In which case i might get 15' to present to what i believe to be the smartest man i know on the planet.
Pretty cool. Both awards to me. I did not believe i would ever get this far with my business proposal. But there it is, on the table for review. Finally!!!
I'm a newbie to sg. But this whole program has been inspiring to me. All my new supportive friends gathered in record time. 97% positive and supportive communication i think. Beautiful. I love you folks, you are truly a special demographic in our troubled social society...
