Well, I took the plunge the other day and got my hair cut after all! The hair dresser didn't get it exactly right, but I'm still happy with the results. Quite by accident, I ended up with a rockin Pompador; its actually not too garish and, in fact, is pretty classy in my opinion. The last few days I've gotten several compliments about it; including...

Well, I haven't gotten the hair cut yet. Mainly because the printer I bought requires a USB cord but, of course, doesn't come with one! Without the printer, I can't print of the pics of the cut I want; and I'm not fool hardy enough to trust my own description of it to the hair dresser to suffice. I might well leave it up to...

So, you're dreaming about The King, and you had your hair cut and were told you look like Elvis

Perhaps your dream was naught but a convoluted Harbinger of Future Things that got bent, folded, spindled or mutilated during delivery. the Elusive Axe may have represented the haircut that was itself eluding you. And the Death which comes with the use of said axe is an augury of your post-haircut event of being compared to a Dead drug addict.

Of course, I'm FOS, but it sounded pretty good, huh? If you were doking smope you'd think it was really cool how I made it seem so REAL!

Sorry, my neighbour is actually hooked on pot like people get hooked on crack and stopped by obviously all smoked out wanting me to play some good "Head Music" for him and so I was playing with his head something fierce while the Grateful Dead played 10 minutes of loud feedback in the background.

I never seem to get the haircut I want exactly, so definitely bring a picture!

Well I had that date tonight and, it went.....well, it went all right. We both certainly had a great time; I haven't laughed that much in a long time, and the gal's utterly adorable. But, I didn't even get a kiss at the end of the night; of course, I'm not really sure if those are supposed to be standard or not. She struck me...

I just ran my tongue over my upper right molar and let out a screaming of "Oh fucking SHIT!" You see, its been chipped for some time now; it rather fell behind with the massive amount of Dental work I had done this summer before my insurance ran out (11 fuckin cavities! I hate my feeth). Anyway I am now shocked and distressed to find...

I had a really good date at a bowling alley once. It's not something people think of as typical, so it can be cool. The whole dinner and a movie thing has been so played out, and when I've done spontaneous stuff (or stuff that seems off-the-wall) it's usually gone over great. I was on a date once at a bar where my friends were playing - where we had decided to be for our date, and a few songs into it I just, saying nothing, took her hand and stopped at the car for my acoustic guitar, led her down to the Bay and played to her under the moonlight at the Water's edge.

She seemed to melt.

And no, I hadn't eaten any weird roadside mushrooms, either.

If you're half as much fun in real life as you are here, you'll show her a great time.

Enjoy!

I've had some strange dreams lately too. Long ones. Ifyaknowhatimean.

Good luck on the date, hope all goes well. biggrin

"I'm drunk again
I'm drunk once again"

- Hank IIII

Well, as I'm sure everyone's figured out, I'm a little enebriated as I write this post. Please excuse any spelling errors that might be traced back to this issue (I need to drink more, and then I could blame all of my spelling errors on beer!)

So, I was sitting in the coffeeshop below my...

I'm in Fargo! YAY!!!!!!!! The first step in my return to abject poverty and education is here smile

In all seriousness I don't think I realized just how used to having a lot of money I'd become. I'm finding that I need to learn some badly needed restraint once again, or i'm going to flounder very quickly. Damn this world and its inability to allow me...

I've forgotten to ask her about the Epic Poem.

You don't have to sing well. Or play well. I suck and people give me money to play and sing.

This free community is a wonderful resource for 'young' guitarists. And I still learn from it. Great people, too. They're not really so much "fringe" people, though - it's a laidback yet somewhat structured place - you don't curse or tlak about sex, basically. It's all about the music.

I probably talked to you about the Meat Puppets before, but you need to listen to them if you haven't.
deceptiviewfilm:
to answer ur question about the original Transformers on DVD. The rights have been picked up by a distributor. There is talk of re-releasing them on dvd probably around the movie's release on dvd at the end of the year.

I'm hungover - for the first time in months. Its not a major one, as far as these things go, but it does happen to be one of those mild-yet persistent varieties which hang on for the entire day. It feels like my head has been wrapped in cotten and there is a slight time-lag between the instant that something occures and when my senses...

Holy shit, that's a long hangover story. Almost epic!smile Hope in two daze you've recovered. Sounds like some shows I've played. With Carpe ocitem we had cops raid and I led the band into "Get Back" a la The Beatles on the roof when the cops came.

Glad you're here.

Anyway, I need help! Fast! And this nextpart is shameless copied and pasted from another journal for lack of time:I need your help! Since people rarely read (or at least comment in) my journal anymore, I have to slut around other people's journals for help. Of course, since he My SG page format change, I read my friends' journals less than I used to, but i see everyone else gets comments.

*stops to crawl under rock and eat worms*

Any way, I'm going to (well, I'm probably going to - they said I can and they'll pay me 100 buck to open for their headliner they won't name, 'cause apparently they're better-known than me - which is pretty easy to be, but I think it's probably someone along the lines of the surving members of Molly Hatchet or something like that) play a Theme Time Music Show tomorrow night with the obvous 4th of July Theme.

Anyway, I need ideas for a set of US or Freedom-type songs. check my journal for what I already am planning to do. I generallly play anything from the Baroque period up to the present, from any genre. A slogan I used to toss out at an old band's shows upon rceiving requests or being asked what kinds of songs we did was: "We Suck Equally At All Kinds Of Music." We even printed shirts. Sold two. Gave away about 30.

Thanks in advance!!

I'm sure I'll do Flag Decal - I do it fairly regualrly, so I can maybe sneak it in one of the middle sets. Aong with some othr controversal topical songs. I just have to be careful not to lose the recurring gig. But some of Neil Young's Living With War (I probably won't do Let's Impeach the President, but Families from that album and Flags of Freedom -which I do seguing into Dylan's Chimes of Freedom or vice versa, should be okay.

Yeah, the Battle of New Orleans I'm doing - actually your whole list looks good. There's so much out there that fits.

Thanks!

I'd better go to sleep now. I have to be at work by 730 and it's 119 now. And after I get out of work around 530 I have to shower, rehearse, and be ready to play by 7:30. It''' probably be just acoustic, for time reasons, unless I can use the headliners' equipment, but not knowing who they are, I have doubts.

Please excuse the last journal; I apparently fell into a period of mopiness and whining for about 12 hours, and I'd like very much to forget it. I don't get into those moods often, but I am always left with a feeling of loathing towards them when they do come. Damn Irish disposition.

Anyway, I just got back from having lunch with my Dad and...

Lets talk about weaknesses for a second, if we will. I know its not a very pleasent topic; most of us spend most of our life doing our best to hide those aspects of ourselves which we consider to be weaknesses. I've got a rockabilly suggestion for your acquisiton (and if you can't find it easily, I can help - it was never released). But there are 1968 studio sessions, about a vinyl album's worth, of Johnny Cash and Bob Dylan. The lead guitarist for the sessions is none other than the King of Rockabilly, Mr. Carl "Blue Swede Shoes" Perkins. They don't do all rockabilly, but it's fun as shit and Bob yodels and JC and Bob are laughing a lot (I think it's when Bob turned JC on to week as an alternative to the 100+ hits of speed he was doing prior to that).

The only thing that was released was Girl Of The North Country on Dylan's Nashville Skyline album. But you'd love the studio boot.

I also muyst recommend, to satisfy your Punkabilly Tooth (hmm . . possible song title for me there):

The Meat Puppets.

Check 'em out. You'll love it.

D'jever download the Dresden Dolls stuff I linked you to?
