I am an arrogant man; for pride runs deep in my family and so to it runs deep in me. Pride in my own abilities, pride in my family, pride in my state, in my party, in my background. To be a McCollum, a Wisconsinite, a Democrat and an Irishman/German/Pole; these are things that are important to me. I love them. This is me

I am a loud man. To be at the center of attention is my desire. To talk more, laugh louder, and smile wider than everyone else in the room. I wish to be recognized, I wish to be applauded and loved. That is me.

I am an ambitious man. I want to rise to the top; though hail and high winds might try to stop me they will not. I shall lough ahead no matter until I reach my destination. I want to leave me mark; to stand next to Ceaser, Alexander, Lincoln and others; for people to know my name in 1000 years and know what I did.

I am also a self-sacrificing man. I would give any and all to help my family and friends. I wish to pull us all up, so that we may all be better than what we once were. I want others to be happy, to be fulfilled, and I should happily cut off my right hand if doing so would please a loved one.

I am a Romantic. Although I am passionate, I treasure the mundane and commonplace. The most romantic notion I can think of is to wake up next to someone and just smile when I see their face. Although no great ballads would be written of such things, it is what I truly want in life more than any other.

I can be distant. Although I feel strong emotions, I have difficulty expressing them. I once went months when I was a child without telling my Mother I loved her, because it made me uncomfortable. I want to tell people how much they mean to me, but it is difficult. Hank William's songs make me cry; children/puppies.kittens make me smile and laugh, I love them.
