I GOT ACCEPTED INTO GRAD SCHOOL!!!!!!!
*clears throat* Sorry about that, I was just a small bit excited. I'll try to say it again and be a little calmer *takes a deep breath*
I GOT ACCEPTED INTO GRAD SCHOOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Gah! Damn, I did it again. I can't help it I suppose. I shall have to beg your forgiveness.
*calms down again* The weird thing is, actually, that I found out in a really roundabout way. I got an e-mail the other day telling me how I could apply for a T.A. position. I responded with an e-mail that said "Thank you for the information, I'll check out the application. By the way, does this mean I've been accepted, because this is the first I've heard of it".
So this morning I woke up and ran to my computer where I had a response that boiled down to "Yup, you're in" Its a conditional acceptence, I need to maintain a B average during my first semester. But, considering that a "B" average is the bare minimum in Grad School anyway, I think I'll be fine.
Now all I have to do is get through the next two months here, and then I can go home and get my life back on the road. woooo!
In a slighty LESS good news; I've been talking to an Ex over the net for the past few months and remembering exactly why I liked her in the first place. She invited me down to visit her this summer and so I thought "hmmm, maybe there is something going on here". Apparently not and my initial reflex that it was strictly platonic was the truth (its ALWAYS platonic. I've noticed that women hate my guts for some reason). It would seem she's getting married. On one hand I'm very happy with her but, on the other, it still bums me out. I'm sure I'll be meeting more girls now that I'm going to grad school but, after two years in Alaska, I'm horribly out of practice and I was never really all that good when I WAS in practice anyway (as I said, women hate my guts). Damn.
Oh well; I got accepted ot grad school!

I understand the "not getting it" thing on music others seem to get som much from.
I'd recommend some live Bob Marley, preferably video , like the boot I mentioned, but there's an album possible called "On The Bus" or something similar I remember that was quite good.
For particular songs, I'd recommend Kinky Reggae and Redemption Song (The latter of which I semi-regularly perform)
Also, compare his original "I Shot The Sheriff" to the later version by Clapton. As much as I love Clapton's work, the Marley version, in my opinion, smokes his (no pun overtly intended).
And Bob's guitar work is quite soulful (despite the brevity of his solos).
Wow, you said you're nearing the light at the end of the tunnel on your Epic Poem, huh?
Can't wait.
It was my first and only (knock wood) time fainting. I seem to be ok.
