Looks like I'm moving back to the good old USA in September. I got orders to Hurlburt Field which is about 1 hour away from my hometown in Florida. I feel somewhat bittersweet about it. I'll be soaking up the sun on the beach every chance I get and I'll see my my beloved family and friends more often, but I will also be closer...

Birthday shenanigans on the Ides of March...what a hoot. Thanks to those who wished me Happy Birthday, it was much appreciated! I ventured to London for a few days this past week, too. London is a fantastic city, and I wish I had more time to soak up more of her charms.

Thank you for that... He's a monster now--over 100 lbs... The first pic in "ms fotos" is him at 9 months.... He's enormous. I'm not a very big dude, but he dwarfs me in the photo. LOL!

ARGH!!!!! I stepped into a pile of life's dogshit and am left with a mess. Cleaning up messes is no fun. frown
I also, don't have home internets, which is my primary form of entertainment. This makes me sad. At least there is free wireless on base so I can at least check my e-mail every once in awhile until I get a new home modem....

All of my friends are married and have children. I am the token single female. Yay. Nothing says 'awkward' like hanging out with your married friends and having them get all lovey-dovey in front of you. Yack. What also gets me depressed (rather selfishly, I might add) is when my friends with kids have to cancel plans because 'the baby is fussy' or they can't...

I hope everyone gets what they want for Christmas. I don't even really celebrate the holiday anymore, not in the traditional sense with decorations and tons of presents (except for my niece and nephew), but that's neither here nor there. If I had to choose a Christmas present, I would like is a couple of days of complete peace and quiet. Life is hectic right...

I've officially turned into 'that' person. You know...the self-imposed troglodite who never leaves the house, who is always in pj's or the like and reads comics all day long. Sheesh. At least I'm not a 'horder' and I still bathe daily.

Oh, I agree it is to little to late, I am in favor of winning wars...

But I really care not for the politics of it all, I care only for poor Mr. Brown because he gets fucked over enough as it is.

Well played, young lady... I agree on soooo many levels. blush

Life is moving fast and slow at the same time. I can't believe that it's already the middle of July when it feels like the damn year just started! Ugh...let's move on.
Lot's of stupid going on 'round here lately. I think the older I get, society (mainly Americans) get dumber and dumber. Or, would it have something to do with my affiliation to the...

Beer is sadly, so often the best answer to human idiocy. The Louisville slugger approach is fine as far as I'm concerned, but not widely accepted. wink

God I can't wait to move back to the US! I've lived in Germany for the past 4 years and loved every minute of it up until recently. My base is in the middle of nowhere, out in the boonies, so there really isn't much for a person who works shift work to get into. There are no late night coffee-shops or diners. There are...

Spring has hit Germany with a vengance! Since the begining of April, most days have been sunny and warm enough to want to wear sunscreen. Needless to say, my spare time has been filled with the smell of meat cooking over hot coals and the taste of beer. Warm weather mellows me out quite a bit. I'm quite content chilling out on my back porch...

I am trying to maintain some semblance of optimism. My Mom's visit has been a blast so far. We have travelled between the Netherlands and Belgium with a St. Patty's Day pitstop at a friend's house for food, drink and revelry. The awesomeness ended yesterday, however, with my nefarious Honda Civic's penchant for disappointment. As my Mom and I got into my car to leave...

Hang in there, Dani! smile Having hosted 2 trips to the West Coast for my Mom, and prodding her to get a passport & come out here, I can tell you that the unexpected can & DOES happen. Don't look at it as being "stranded" in the local area; instead, take the time to just chill-ax with your mom. How well do you know your local town/village? Maybe it's time to get out there and find out what happens when nobody else is looking. ^_^

I hope your birthday was fun, as it sounds like your vacation so far has been amazing.

Good luck with car repairs. A co-worker of mine has to junk a car he bought about 3 weeks ago because it just DIED on him. At least you're in Germany. If anyone knows how to fix a machine, it's them. Even if it's a Honda! wink
