the Milwaukee Tattoo Convention is over. it was this past weekend and turned out pretty cool. i had a great time! i had a feeling i would so i took off of work for today to recover. im glad i did. i needed it. met alot of new people and ran into alot of faces i havent seen in a while. some things did get a little out of hand at times but that happens at conventions. it was all harmless. sAcred sKin had the presidential suite for the weekend and hosted a party on fri and sat night with a half barrell and a quater barrell. open for anyone.
a few customers of mine entered the contest and took some awards. heres Timmy right after winning his first award at his first convention,....
it was for the harp i did on his throat for his mom.
the bud back took a few too. he was asked to enter it in wildlife and ended up takin first place. i guess it is wildlife but,.... ohh well. im pretty sure some of the wolf and eagle havin motherfuckers were a little upset though. i at least got a little laugh.
after the convention was done each night, we headed to the bar in the hotel and invited everyone to the suite to help kill the barrells. went over pretty well. the suite had 2 rooms in it and 2 bathrooms but filled up with motherfuckers pretty quick.
Murphys Law played the convention and they even showed up to work on the barrell. crazy bunch of dudes. Jimmy the singer tried takin a nap in the closet on the shelf and it didnt even break.
saturday was the midget wrestling. i was lookin forward to it but it was actually kinda boring after a while. i will admit, i did get a few laughs out of it though. mostly the hecklers though. they were brutal.
second day of the contest was going before and after the midget wrestling. my buddy Skully from Black Dragon picked up a trick working award for his handlebar mustash.
timmy got a few that weekend. this is for his heart alarm clock i did. timmy is the guy with the heart and blender on his ribs. great guy and a good customer of mine.
a Kiss cover band played that night too. i was never a big Kiss fan so yeah,.... they sucked.
the Artfusion was goin on after the midgets were done. i always wanted to get in on that but they set up the drawing boards for the midgets or someshit. they were pretty low and im way too tall to be hunched over like that so i stayed out of it.
timmy again being timmy as hes with megan our counter girl at the shop.
saturday night sAcred sKin through another party in the room with another barrell. we didnt have a booth at the show so we figured it was a good place to have a little customer appreciation party for everyone seeing it was our home town and all our good customers were there. arent we sweet?? so we went to the bar in the hotel again inviting everyone to the room at bar close to do it all again. while we were there, i managed to get a shot of my buddies girls cuttin a rug with one of the Kiss dudes,....
the party that night was pretty crazy. we had a few complaints but didnt get hassled too bad i guess. there was a suspension show outside the room over the railing in the stairwell. they didnt want any flash goin off so i took some video. the wedding party in the hotel was a little worried.

2 of the midgets that were supposed enimies were hangin out in the room with us together havin beers and the lizzard man even joined us too. party went till about 6am and then it was so time for bed.
by the last day i was pretty beat. i just walked around and hung out a little. watched the lizzard mans show,....
after that i hung out with Skully while he was gettin his foot done by Julio. i worked with Julio for many years. he moved to San Jose a few years ago and is always nice to see him back home.
thats about it. i was so ready to go home. had to pick up bruder first. hes at the puppy sitter all weekend and i was missin my fat buddy.
overall the convention was pretty good. i was wondering how the turnout was gonna be. it was good. i got to meet cheaparts guys but didnt get to meet cheapart. finally met cornink too. been seeing his work for years and exchanging messages with him on here for a while now. also hung out with Kevin Starai, another great artist ive been watching for years. nice to finally meet these people. everyone seems to be very friendly and easy to talk to.
well, my brother is doing a big stereo in my buddies car in the garage right now and he brought his bulldog. gotta let bruder go play. hes got all those guys hooked on the crazy ass systems in their cars. they just cant stop givin the Hazeltons all their hard earned money. no complaints from me!
