Hello kiddies! I am risen from the dead. Somewhat, anyway.
This last month has kept me unpleasantly busy with work. Sadly, one of my employees is dealing with a terminal illness and she has needed a lot of time off for medical testing and treatment. As a result, I've had to work double duty to help fill in the gap (which has contributed to my SG absence). I try to refrain from being a grump about it, because any inconvenience I'm experiencing is dwarfed by the sheer hell that my incredible employee is going through. The grace & dignity she demonstrates during this very unpleasant process is, indeed, inspiring.
I did manage to find some fun, as FISHBONE recently played in my town. As a teenager, they were a solid favorite band of mine for a number of years. They also hold the record for the band I've seen live the most number of times, which now stands at a total of 18. I was particularly excited about this concert, however, because it marked the first time my 16-year-old son (also a Fishbone fan) was able to see the band play live.
It was a special evening that started with the screening of a new documentary about the band, that is currently touring the film festival circuit.
Trailer for Everyday Sunshine: The Story of Fishbone:
After the screening, the band did a Q&A with the audience, before hitting the stage to perform live. I've gotta say, 25+ years later, they continue to be one of the most energetic & entertaining bands around. After the show, the band stuck around to chat with fans. My son was thrilled.
Here we are in a crappy cell phone picture, hanging out after the show with my all-time favorite bassist, Fishbone's Norwood Fisher (my son is on the left, I'm in the middle and Norwood on the right, showing off THE CRAW!):

I love that guy so much that, 22 years ago, I named a cat after him! (Come on, Norwood is a GREAT cat name, don'tcha think?)
Here's a great Fishbone song that showcases Norwood's excellent skillz on da bass (skip forward to about 2:55 minutes in, to be truly impressed!):
And here's just a damn good song by the brothers 'bone:
I also took my son to see Jackass 3D last week. I feel like I should be embarrassed for seeking such low-brow entertainment, but I'm not.
It was ridiculous and funny, as was intended. The 3D element was more than a little disturbing. Nothing quite like seeing shit, piss and vomit whiz by your face in three glorious dimensions. ![puke](https://dz3ixmv6nok8z.cloudfront.net/static/img/emoticons/puke.3724b71956e4.gif)
October is my favorite month. Halloween is very big at my house. This year, I have some friends coming in from out of town, so it will be even more special. Unfortunately, since I've been so busy, I've not had time to put together a fun costume, so I think I'll just do my go-to costume: zombie!

Oh! That reminds me... I am super excited about Halloween because that will bring the debut of the new AMC network series The Walking Dead! I haven't been this excited about a new TV show in a very long time.
What are your plans for Halloween?![skull](https://dz3ixmv6nok8z.cloudfront.net/static/img/emoticons/skull.4242d54c7e24.gif)

I adore michael caine and thought the movie actually started out very interesting but at some point turned into a revenge thingy that I felt was quite over the top. I coudnt buy it.
