Now that I have a moment, I will clarify the cryptic message in my last blog.
I'm a social worker who assists troubled teenagers. That, in itself, says a lot about what I came into at work today. Apparently what happened was that, at approx. 2:45 a.m., a former client broke into my office, presumably to burgle whatever he could. A neighbor saw what was going on & called the police.
The former client, now trapped, proceeded to barricade himself in one of the rooms in my office, take a knife and threaten to kill himself. The police shot a series of pepper spray paintballs into the office, but the guy cut his own neck with the knife, before the police could gain entry and subdue him.
The police broke the window in order to shoot the pepper balls into the room where he barricaded himself.

The intruder left behind his cigarettes and blood, along with that awful pepper ball powder.

Needless to say, I wasn't planning on coming in to work having to clean up blood, glass & pepper spray paintball powder. That stuff is NOXIOUS! (Which, I guess is the point). Fortunately, I'm always prepared for just about anything.

(Given my choice of shirt for the day, you can tell I was expecting a much more relaxing day).
I have a headache and a sore jaw from coughing and hacking on the pepper ball powder.![puke](https://dz3ixmv6nok8z.cloudfront.net/static/img/emoticons/puke.3724b71956e4.gif)
The kicker to this whole thing is the fact that, about two years ago, we had a rash of break-ins at my office in a short period of time & I suspected this very person (because he left behind his brand of cigarettes and a can of the grape soda I knew he loved so well. At the time, it wasn't enough evidence for the police to make an arrest (no fingerprints, etc.). He'd managed to steal about $800 worth of money & property.![mad](https://dz3ixmv6nok8z.cloudfront.net/static/img/emoticons/mad.73f291fbf3b2.gif)
We improved our security around the office as a result of the earlier burglaries, but he STILL managed to gain entry this morning.
At least he got caught this time. In talking to the police, it turns out he's suspected of being responsible for a great number of burglaries in the area, so he's likely looking at a hefty amount of time in the klink. ![skull](https://dz3ixmv6nok8z.cloudfront.net/static/img/emoticons/skull.4242d54c7e24.gif)

Wow, that's a really shitty day. Why didn't Sheriff Joe send out one of those crime scene clean up crews so you didn't have to do it? (Sorry if I got the wrong county.)![miao!!](https://dz3ixmv6nok8z.cloudfront.net/static/img/emoticons/miao.9f700d970e33.gif)

Wow. Your life sounds epic. Glad he was caught, and I hope he gets the help he needs.
