Well, Bad Manners didn't wind up happening for me last night. My kids were being particularly rotten (which is not the norm. Usually they are nothing but a complete joy to be around, but I swear, I think my son is having a second puberty right now. He's so moody these days!). My wife was at her wit's end in dealing with them, so I felt like i needed to stay home to support her and play referee between my kids.
Nevermind that I've been wanting to see that band for 25 years. *pout* Ah well... such are the vagaries of parenthood sometimes.

Instead, we stayed in and watched The Lovely Bones. I didn't much care for it.
On an unrelated note, I just read someone else's blog about the fact that she'd had a nightmare last night wherein she was given what should have bee a mortal wound, but she did not die. It got me to thinking about an ongoing debate I've had with a friend about whether or not we can die in our dreams.
He thinks it's possible, whereas, I don't. I've often come close to death in my dreams, and should certainly have died a number of times, if it were the real world, but I've never actually kicked the bucket. I don't think our brains can let this happen, because we are always observers in our dreams, whether or not we are observing ourselves. Does that make sense?
So, what do you think?

I never die in my dreams - and if it seems close to happening - I wake up very abruptly -
