Well I am now a Disabled Veteran.
I am officially out of the army as of this week, with a estimated disability rating between 70-100%
I just find it slightly interesting that i join on my own free will, Go to a hotspot in iraq, get blown up and shot at numerous times. finally taking an ied blast that leaves me with a messed up knee. a few neurological issues and a loss of hearing, and because this influences my ability (so they say) to serve, its best to sweep us under the carpet and push us into the civilian world.
Granted its not all that bad, Yes I lost the only thing ive known for the past few years, but between disability + what money i bring in im going to be comfortable. I no longer have to deal with NCO's that should never have gotten their stripes, and slicksleeve upper enlisted that have no idea what its like to prep a unit for combat. And I can finally pursue my medical degree.
Oh btw, now i can also finally get the piercings and tattoos that i want!
