Well after a week of driving and a couple days of un packing and getting use to the time difference. I think I finally adjusted. I started on Sunday 24th from NJ around 4:00 p.m. I drove until I hit northern PA area around 2:30 pm. PA has some curvy streets when you hit northern like around Butler. I stayed that night in a motel that reminded me of the BATES MOTEL. I think Norman was watching me take a shower. I woke up the next morning and got ready and started driving, Monday 8:00 am est. I was thinking I should be there by like wednesday....yeah right!. Listening to Jeff Buckley and some other chill out music on my ipod not to mention the SG radio podcasts that I had saved. Tuesday night after getting lost in Chicago because of the awesome GPS that I bought. I stopped at yet again another motel this time the older woman at the desk saw my short hair and asked if I have returned from Iraq and I said yes. She only charged me 25 dollars for a night and she even cooked me breakfest. I didn't feel bad about the white lie because I did get back from Iraq about 2 years ago. On the Road once again listening to the audiobook version of the Jack Kerouac's On the Road and listening to Good will hunting made time go by. IOWA and Nebraska are states of nothing I didn't see a house for 20 miles at a time. Stayed in another motel another free breakfest from the motel it was great. Gas is expensive as shit I remeber thinking when I get to California I'm not driving. Well by Thursday I made to a friend's house that i havent seen in two-three years. He was the same old Matt, still riding choppers and working on cars and jets anything that made a loud noise. He skipped class that night to take me out for a night in Phoenix. We went to eat and then went to a bar and saw Carvin Jones, really bad ass guitar player. The next morning I got back on the road thinking it would be a easy trip from Phoenix to LA....again I must say yeah right! The drive was fine until I got out of riverside and then it was a traffic nightmare. Granted I'm from Jersey and they don't have 5-10 lane highways so I was shitting myself because of all the semis flying by me. I finally got off and found a regular highway and drove the rest of the way and saw some nice place, until I guess I was in a neighborhood where all the windows on all the houses had bars on them and the only white person I saw was the one in my mirror ( that would be me). I finally got out of the that and was on Venice Blvd then my friends house. good lord! 5 days and 3200 miles. So since I'm new to LA, I'm looking for some nice people to hang out with. See Ya
