WTF?!!!

US Customs Agency is trying to outlaw the majority of knives sold, carried and used lawfully in the US with some very broad redefining of the term "switchblade"
Essentially, Customs is saying that any knife whose blade folds within its frame and can be opened in ANY fashion with a single hand should be considered a switchblade. This is not a new law, but a revision upon a law that has been serving its purpose since 1958.
This could potentially open up the doors to an all out ban of this style of pocket knives, or just ban the importation of them. Considering that Customs has tried slipping this right by the public and has denied any extensions requests to receive or hear comments from the public, I am inclined to believe the former.
If you would like to know more about this, including the full text regarding the change, please click the digg link below. Also found on the linked page are form letters you can send to Customs and your local senator or representative.
The comment letter to Customs MUST be printed, signed and mailed. I know it's a pain in the ass, but Customs is not accepting emails on this issue. Yet another reason to be suspicious of their motives (or maybe I'm a little too paranoid, either way) Your letter to Customs must also be Received before June 21st, so send it by the 18th at the latest.
