The Samedi Lodge was pretty quiet, but I'm used to playing to an empty room. Nice to hear my records on a big system again.

I know now not to over prepare my sets. The smoothest part of the night was after I'd run out of the records I wanted to play and was digging for b-sides and surprises.

Strange that reading William Gibson's descriptions of Camden and Soho in Pattern Recognition make me feel homesick for a place I never really felt was home when I lived there.

The guy who ran the first industrial/goth nightclubs I went out to as a 17 year old nine years ago has died of an overdose. I knew him very vaguely.

He supplied some fantastic evenings of pre-legal clubbing.

I just discovered that my sleeve for Marvin Gaye's Midnight Love, purchased at Deal Real Records in London, actually contains a copy of the Best of Earth, Wind and Fire.

I'm not complaining though. Could have been a lot, lot worse.
