I had a horrible horrible nightmare last night. It woke me up at 1 am. My apartment was on the top 3rd floor of this building under construction, and the hand rails were either non existant or there was so much open space my kid could walk off of them and fall very easily.

I tried to hold my daughter but the more I did the more she fought to get away to play, and I almost dropped her over and over. I would put her down and she would run to the nearest ledge and I would grab her again. This happened over and over. Eventually I was grabbing her so hard it was hurting her very badly and I was in a Catch22.

My GF was there. She was trying too. Our daughter squirmed so much she almost got away over the railing (picture Micheal Jackson holding his kid over the balcony). She pulled her in just in time.

I felt so guilty and unable to protect my kid.

This is the first nightmare I've had that I can remember the details of for years and years. Normally I wake up and I can remember only that I had a bad dream, but that's about it.
