I've been checking the prices of HD stuff - it's really dropping. Sony Bravia X Series are now like $800 cheaper than they were before. There are other Full HD sets under $3k now....
and I think I have convinced my better half to go along for the ride - she's been looking at tv cabinets in Ikea...

I've been socializing heaps more too, people need people it seems. Having people around is so important, it makes it all worth while.
