in Manhattan...
i had one of the best days ever...
i woke up with the band in annie quick's living room on the upper side of manhatten.
she's a cool freind and fellow musician who stays with us in chicago, so she returned the favor.
----
my freind Blair and i are driving back tomorrow, but today i took off on my own...
my chance to see New York City...
I started in central park, which is amazingly huge and beautiful, then headed down broadway past all the theaters, past the ed sullivan theater... but alas no letterman...
I Made my way through times square (insane with lights, ads, and glamour. after fighting my way through crowds of tourists, teenagers, and fashion models, i made my way over to the Empire State Building.
The wait to go to the top was over an hour and a half, so i had to pass on that one, but i still took a few pics. tons of security, no surprise there.
Took the subway down to greenwich village, and walked there for about an hour. what a comfortable place to walk in NY. i love the way those streets feel.
lots of restaraunts, so i dug in and ate there and just hung out. i couldnt figure out where the cover of that dylan album was shot though...
Headed down to the staten island ferry, and through battery park. took a gander at the statue of liberty. kinda far away, but its still there...
i like battery park too, cool parks in this town for sure...
headed up to strawberry fields, and took a gander. felt the vibe. i love central park, i wish i had more time to spend in it. everyone looks so happy and peaceful in it...
Im sure thats not always the case...but it was today...
----
im exhausted now.
im going to take a nap. I'm heading out to a party later with annie.
bye for now
