It's finally raining today. In Australia, we are in the worst drought in 100 years. Rain is few and far between at the moment. We are on level 3 water restrictions which means I can only water our permaculture garden with watering cans and this is in the city! If we don't get decent rain by October we will be on level 4 which means I won't be able to water the garden at all and everything will die during the hideously hot summers we get.
If the garden was about 10 years old it wouldn't be such a problem. Permuculture can be designed for hot, dry environments but this garden is only two years old and in that two years it has rained really heavy three times.
I find carrying the watering cans quite humbling though. It makes me think of much poorer countries where all of there survival is reliant on carrying water. they will be pumping sewage water into the system soom. Eeek! Brain parasites!!
Even though I get depressed about my life every now and then I know I have so much compared to the majority in this world. I know I live in the first world.
The ungrateful world. Greeeeeeeeedy world.
Anyway, it's raining and I love it!
Makes me want to wear perfum.
