Climbed the Aihualama Pu'u 'Ohia trail Saturday.
Once you get past Manoa Falls there is a wicked stretch that switchbacks up the wall of Manoa valley 15 times. You gain about 1000 feet of elevation by the end of that.
The trail ends at the top of Pu'u 'Ohia overlooking Honolulu -- in one direction you can see out to the Waianae Coast. In the other, you look out towards Makapu'u.
That spot is also completely overgrown with ginger and the blossoms smell soooo amazingly wonderfull. Truth be told, I've fooled around with more than one hiking partner up there.
For contrast, I think I'll head to north shore to check out the surf sites Sunday.
It is not a bad life I have some weeks.
