Tonight I took the recorder over to my dads house to do some vocals. I've got two new songs and one re-write that need vocals (and two other new songs in the works, by the way) but I wasn't able to do shit. I've never recorded vocals before. The two songs I have now were recorded by a friend of mine using his gear, and it seems vocals, unlike guitars and such, are harder to record than they appear. As you may already know, I'm a screamer, and I couldn't keep the audio from peaking with out making it sound bad. Every thing I did sounded flat and weak, especially on top of my well recorded music (if I do say so myself). I added some reverb but it just wasn't happening. I guess I'll have to wait to get with my friend so he and I can figure out how to do vocals on my recorder. Lord knows when that will be, though.
