In about 1 week, a large stack of books will arrive at my door from Amazon. It's Thesis Book Buying time - this is mighty scary.

my essay is about spatial and temporal discrepancies in mrs. dalloway, the new york trilogies, and cosmopolis. basically i'm attempting to show that the so-called discrepancies are tools to show characterization. for example, that a character is mad (septimus in mrs. d) or conditioned by the pomo city/society and capitalism (quinn in n.y.t [city of glass] and eric packer in cosmopolis).

of course my essay makes even less sense than that ridiculous stab at an explanation.
