In the vein of continuing to introduce myself, it is worth noting that I play Ultimate (frisbee). I am dangerously on the cusp, not between "playing ultimate to get fit" and "getting fit to play ultimate" but "ultimate is a dominanting characteristic of my social life". I am not there yet, although I can not say it might not be an improvement. But I am now the co-commissioner of the recreational Fall League, and contemplating an invite to try out for the national level club team.
All of this to introduce my phrase of the day, from a poem seen this weekend.
I wish more often than not I was able to "fall into sleep like a parachutist". I don't really maintain a healthy sleep schedule. I think ... I /know/ my efforts to improve my fitness and physique would be even more dramatic if I resolved my sleep and eating schedules into anything even approaching reasonable. I was hoping that the sedentary life of college was what promoted my one or less meals-a-day and less-than-four-hours sleep averages, and that if I continued to workout and run and play sports 3-6 days a week it would sort itself. That is false.
