When we were done tapping for the day, we went back to the house for a nice dinner, and had maple syrup dumplings for dessert.
Maple Syrup Dumplings
1 Cup of flour
2 Teaspoons of baking powder
1/2 Teaspoon of salt
2 Teaspoons of sugar
1/2 Cup of milk
1/4 Cup of oil
- Combine all of the ingredients, and let it rise in the bowl for 20-30 minutes.
2 Cups of maple syrup
2 Cups of water
- Heat the water and syrup mix in a pot until it comes to a boil.
- Using a spoon, drop scoops of batter into the pot, and cook covered on low heat for 20 minutes (don't remove the lid unless you have to)
