Went out last weekend with the goddess. I rented a 04' Duce and we went a rolling along the country roads.
First, I would like to say that it hurt, I mean it hurt so bad that I thought that my intestins were going to push out my bum and through my nuts. We rode from Elk River East to 95 and down into Stillwater. After lunch in Stillwater we got back on the bike and made our way down to Red Wing on the MN side. 150 miles on day one of our virgin motercycle journey.
Woke to thunder storms on day 2. What the fuck was I to do? I never rode in the rain, I had no rain gear. It was waiting time ... ... Wondering when the rain would stop, I started to plot the fastest way back to Elk River. Originally I vowed to never get on a highway, but there was no way that I would spend three or four hours on that Torturemachine. Highways it was. It sucked.
Got the bike back a little damp, but the goddess and I got through it.
Things I learned on the adventure:
1. Forward controls suck when you have a twosome on the bike.
2. 150 miles was a little too ambitious.
3. A back rest is a necesity for the Goddess.
4. Saddle bags don't hold much.
5. I should have gone with a dresser.
I don't think I have the motercycle bug yet. I think that I endured the ride instead of enjoying it.
I do look forward to going out on a day trip soon with a proper bike.

i can't do motorcycles. i think they are cool and i know that people really like them, but they scare me. too much exposure. i like the (somewhat false) comfort of a car with walls that surround me.
plus growing up around those in the medical field who referred to them as "donor-cycles" probably doesn't help...
tattoos soon. i'm working on sketches and placement and just can't make a decision yet.
