Dream of Life.
I got home from work and was incredibly incredibly sleepy. Usually, I am a fountain of productivity: 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10.
I looked briefly at SG to see if any entries had come in (transmissions) and then covered myself with my blanket, took off my work clothes, put on my air conditioning, lay down on my bed. It felt good to lie down under the covers as no one was asking me to do anything at all.
In my dream, I was sleeping very comfortably on my bed and a beautiful girl from SG came to visit. She walked into my room from the next room where a couple women were nicely working together. I was on my bed and sleeping very comfortably (this was my dream) and the SG girl came from the next room and said "you must not sleep at work", smiled and tried very very gently to awake me. She was very nice but she did not want to know me very much, simply wake me. I was her gentle duty as I was sleeping on the job. It was impossible though as I was comfortably asleep, very tired and althhough I was extremely happy to see her (as glad as one is able to be when one is asleep) and glad for her gentle efforts of trying to awaken me, I was permanently asleep and had no desire to get up any longer - for anyone. I was too tired and needed to sleep forever and ever and ever.
I woke up with a certain earlier beautiful proletarian song of Patti Smith's that I've always enjoyed and thought quite powerful in my head. Patti was singing "People have the power" and I always felt before that this was a beautiful sort of even American type communist anthem. I know its significance had to do for me with the idea that Pattie had left New York, been silent and away from the limelight in Detroit for a long time after (Horses), married, had children, etc. Then she had come back very very comfortably and I believe she is still back. I also just remembed that the song people have the power comes off this album "Dream of Life"
I am currently comfortable in Miami and had been struggling previously in New York for a long time - everyone, including the best struggle there - its NY, in some sense, the final stop. I still currently have no plans to go back to NY as my job currently is here, they like me on my job and I am quite comfortable with regards to my living situation except that I am alone.
I wish to write "People have the Power" on the page yet I do not know why.
I wonder what my beautiful suicide girl trying to wake me dream means. It seems mysterious that I was asleep in my dream. The dream seems to me to have to do with the song both, if this makes sense, the album name/concept "Dream of Life" and the song "People have the Power" - the somewhat glorious, melancholy beautiful refrain sung in Patty's inimitable female voice.
I am still very very sleepy and do not want to call anyone.
I am now putting a couple links to Patti Smith songs I found on the internet. I have no idea why except I am looking for as you probably expect the song "People have the Power":
